Minor Fire Breaks Out on Runway at INS Dega

A minor Fire broke out on runway of INS Dega when a fuel drop tank of a MIG-29K jettisoned accidentally while taking off in Vishakhapatnam on Monday.

The incident took place around 10 am when the MIG was taking off on a routine training. Soon after the incident the Navy officials at the Visakhapatnam air base rushed and doused the fire.

No one has been injured but damage has been sustained to the aircraft.

The officials said that on its way back the aircraft's second fuel tank was dropped to balance the weight of the aircraft during landing.

However, the second empty external fuel tank falls from a flying MiG 29K Navy aircraft at CISF quarters in Visakhapatnam.
