HYDERABAD: The state continued to reel under severe heat wave conditions on Saturday and Rentachintala in Guntur district recorded a maximum temperature of 47 degrees Celsius, the highest this season. The heat wave is likely to prevail in various parts of the state during the next two days.Nandigama, Ongole, Adilabad, Nizamabad and Ramagundam recorded 45 degrees Celsius, closely followed by Nellore, Hanamkonda, Mahbubnagar, Medak, Kadapa, Kurnool, Nandyal and Tirupati at 44 degrees Celsius. Hyderabad sizzled at 43 degree Celsius for the second consecutive day.Many cities and towns wore a deserted look in the afternoon as temperature hovered around 40 degrees Celsius at several places in the state, especially in the districts of Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Adilabad, Nizambad and Karimnagar.The weather will remain dry over Telangana and Rayalaseema but isolated rain is likely to occur in some parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh. Officials warn public against venturing outside in the afternoon.Asssitant meteorologist S Venkateswara Rao predicted similar conditions for the next two days in these districts along with Nellore. He said though the maximum temperature was likely to come down at a few places after three-four days, there would be no major change. However, people might get a huge relief from heat by the end of May as the Met authorities predict arrival of Northeast Monsoon in Kerala during first week of June.
