Decomposed body of a man aged about 30 years was found hanging at his residence on Pottery Road under J C Nagar police station limits on Tuesday evening. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
The police said one of his neighbours informed them about foul smell emanating from his house.
The police rushed to the spot and broke open the door to find him hanging. It is suspected that he might have ended life about 10 days ago and the body was in a decomposed state.
“There is no much information about the deceased. None of his neighbours know him. Investigations should reveal more about him and the reason for the suicide,” the police said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and police are awaiting its report.
The J C Nagar police have registered an unnatural death case and are investigating in this connection.
