An 80-year-old Iranian man may have set a 'stinky' new world record - he has not taken a bath in 60 years because he believes cleanliness brings him sickness.

Amou Haji, who lives in Dejgah village in the southern Iranian province of Fars, feasts on rotten porcupine and has not bathed for last six decades.

The last record of longest time going without a shower belonged to a 66-year-old Indian, Kailash Singh, who had not taken a bath over 38 years, according to a report in a local daily.

The report said Haji had gone through some emotional setbacks in his youth and from then on decided to live an isolated life.

A few young men once offered him a shower, however, Haji resisted taking a bath because he believes cleanliness brings him sickness.

Haji's favourite food is rotten meat of dead animals specially porcupines. His smoking pipe is filled with animal's feces instead of tobacco, the report said.

Haji lives in a hole in the ground that resembles a grave and sometimes in an open brick shack built by those who felt sorry for him.

What's your reaction?
