BANGALORE: Unable to bear harassment by her husband, a housewife ended life by hanging herself at her residence, at Deepanjalinagar Second Cross in Byatarayanapura police station limits on Saturday.Divya (23) had married Jagadish, a manager in a petrol pump on Mysore Road, four years ago. The couple had a two-year-old son.According to the police, after a few months of their marriage Jagadish began to harass Divya, mentally and physically.On Saturday, when Jagadish had gone to work, Divya left her son with the neighbours and locked herself in her house.The incident came to light when one of the neighbours went to visit her and found her hanging from the ceiling fan, the police said.“Divya has left behind a note claiming herself responsible for her death. However, her parents have filed a case of harassment against Jagadish and they have also alleged that he has committed the murder,” the police said.A case of unnatural death has been registered in Byatarayanapura police station and further investigations are on. 1 Held for Dowry HarassmentGangammanagudi police arrested pastor of Bethel Church in Siddarthanagar Shantharaju (42) on Saturday as his wife filed a case of dowry harassment and threat to life.The pastor’s wife, Priyalatha, in her complaint alleged that the pastor was harassing her to bring more dowry and threatening her of killing her. She also charged the pastor of carrying out illegal activities in the church and abusing minor girls. Police said nobody had filed a complain of sexual abuse against him.
