Hussein allegedly sent Obama an envelope containing HIV-infected blood.

New York: Reports in American media suggest that police in the US have arrested a man from Chicago for allegedly targeting President Barack Obama with HIV infected blood.

The accused, Saad Hussein, allegedly sent Obama and his staff an envelope containing HIV-infected blood, hoping to kill or harm them.

The envelope contained, among other unusual items, a letter with reddish stains was sent to the office of the Illinois government in the weeks leading to US President's Obama's inauguration.

Hussein, an Ethiopian refugee in his late 20s, takes drugs for mental illness and has apparently confessed to the crime.

This is only the second time ever that HIV-infected blood has been sent with malicious intent through the US mail system.
