HYDERABAD: Claiming that the party’s success in byelections would have a great impact on state politics, Lok Satta party president Jayaprakash Narayan on Monday appealed to the people to support it with “votes, notes and seats” in the March 18 Assembly bypoll. He told newsmen though his party was contesting only two assembly segments - Kovur and Mahbubnagar (out of seven going to polls), people’s support would give a fillip to LSP’s determination to usher in people-centric politics. The coming bypolls would provide a golden opportunity for people to give vent to their pent up feelings on the rotten state of politics in the state. People were thirsting for corruption-free politics, rule of law, fair and remunerative prices for farm produce, overhaul of liquor policy and a bright future for the youth, he observed.Replying to a query, Jayaprakash said seizure of `30 lakh cash from a vehicle in Mahbubnagar constituency brings to light the tendency of mainstream political parties to win elections at any cost. The LSP leader introduced his party candidates - Mohd Ghouse Moinuddin for Mahbubnagar assembly segment and Nellore Narasaiah for Kovur constituency.
