BHUBANESWAR: Dissident activities came to the fore in the State Congress on Sunday with former working president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra meeting Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad along with some MLAs and leaders demanding a change in the leadership from top to bottom of the organisation. Azad, who was on a two-day visit to the State, left for Delhi on Sunday. Sources said that the dissidents apprised Azad of the weaknesses in the State Congress organisation and demanded overhauling. They demanded organisational changes at every level for the revival of the party. Azad was in-charge of the State before Jagdish Tytler.  Tytler, however, told mediapersons that there was no point in meeting Azad. Either they should have met the Congress president or me, he said and added that the party’s poor performance in the Zilla Parishad election was being reviewed. Besides, the cause behind the defeat of Congress candidates in more than 100 seats in ZP polls is also being inquired into, he said. The former Union minister said that changing the party leadership is only in the hands of the party high command.
