KOCHI: The Kerala Property Show organised by the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association, Kochi, entered its second day on Saturday. On the first day, the programme registered as many as 640 visitors. After the dip in 2008, property shows have been showing a steady recovery, the organisers said. But the NRI markets are still in a lull, they noted.Speaking about the recent scams in the industry, CREDAI members said that the government must look at regulation of the market. “Otherwise the fault of a few will smear the whole industry,” the organisers said. They also cautioned the customers from making uniformed decisions. The customer must carefully scrutinise the history and the track record of each builder. The speed of its development, job opportunities and health and educational facilities were making Kochi an sought-after destination of Keralites. This was having a direct impact on the real estate industry, the organisers said.Forty-two builders and developers are participating in the property expo. Apart from exhibitions of villas and apartments, the show also saw the participation of banks, sanitaryware companies and waste management solution agencies. In the coming days, the property show will also have painting and extempore competitions for children.
