Thiruvananthapuram: On the issue of allocation of new Plus Two schools and batches the Kerala High Court in its interim order said that the schools which were not recommended by the higher secondary director's six member committee will not get the new batches. The order also gave provisional permission to start these courses in all schools recommended by the higher secondary director.
This interim order comes as a huge blow to the state Government as there have been allegations of bribes offered to get new batches. As many as 131 new schools and 426 new batches were allotted, how many of them will loose the batches will be known only after the government comes with statistics.
Representatives of more than 100 schools have approached the court stating that the criteria for allotting batches were overlooked and the names of some schools were inserted in the list overlooking the merit of others.
The opposition has already started demanding the resignation of Education minister PK Abdu Rabb.
