BANGALORE: The High Court on Tuesday lashed out at the petitioners seeking action against Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda for constructing a building by violating BDA and BBMP rules. Hearing a petition filed by city-based journalist K G Nagalakshmi Bai, a division bench headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar questioned the need for the petition. “You must be public spirited to file such petition, but I don’t see any such thing. Why were you silent until five floors were constructed?” Justice Khehar censured the journalist for approaching the media before going to court. “You are publicity hungry. Why (did you) file the petition after he becomes chief minister? What were you doing all this time?” Taking exception to the petitioner naming the CM as B S Yeddyurappa’s successor, the judge remarked, “You are targeting an individual. Which political party do you belong (to)?”When the petitioner submitted that she has filed several public interest litigations (PILs) , the bench directed the petitioners to submit its details within four weeks.
