BANGALORE: Navakarnataka Vignana Tantragnana Padasampada, a science and technology lexicon in Kannada with about 15,000 scientific words and their meanings, was launched on Sunday.Well known publishing house Navakarnataka Publications Private Limited has brought out this lexicon edited by K L Gopalakrishna Rao, T R Anantharamum and C R Krishna Rao.The lexicon covers a wide range of disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Medicine, Accountancy, Geography, Astronomy, Oceanography, Civil Engineering and also has relevant details about some complicated phrases. It includes a number of photographs too.Renowned astrophysicist C V Vishveshwara released the lexicon, which is bound to be of great help to the student community, lecturers, professors, scientists and journalists, among others to understand scientific and technological terms in a better way. Especially, with its lucid style and appropriate illustrations, the lexicon is expected to benefit one and all. Though it has been released with a cover price of Rs 650, the cost was slashed down by Rs 450 for buyers at the launch.
