A total of 22 Boys and 18 Girls state-level teams would vie for the honours in the 25th Junior National Throwball Championship commencing on Tuesday.
About 550 boys and girls would participate in two categories in the four-day tournament to be held at DAV Public School, Board Colony ground, organising president S B Prasad said in a statement.
The matches would be played on league-cum-knockout basis in two clay courts, Prasad said. Throwball is a non-contact ball game played across a net between two teams of seven players each on a rectangular court. Hosts teams would be led by Nitish Kumar (boys) and Soni Verma (girls).
