BANGALORE: A group of 25 primary and high school students including 13 girls along with their teachers from Army Goodwill School and other government schools of  Shopiyan District  of  Jammu and Kashmir arrived in Bangalore as part of National Integration tour from Kashmir to South India under Sadbhavana Operation,  organised by the No 28 Punjab Regiment of the Indian Army. Operation Sadbhavana is an important project undertaken by the army to help the poor civilians  of Jammu and Kashmir with many social welfare schemes like health, education, vocational training and improving economy and so on.  The students in Bangalore visited the headquarters of Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area, and met Brigadier A Dutta, Officiating General Officer Commanding of Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area of the Indian Army. They also visited Madras Engineer Group and Centre, ASC Centre and College and Military School.  This novel tour for the poor school children from the remote border regions of interior Kashmir is to give an exposure to the world outside their villages and also an attempt to bring them to main stream of society.  The aim of the tour is to broaden the horizons of the young children by showcasing the many facets of Southern India which would not only widen their understanding towards national integration and motivate them to pursue higher studies and contribute towards building a strong,   democratic modern India.
