New Delhi: Even before it became clear that King of Pop Michael Jackson had died, the word 'fake' was doing the rounds.

After it was reported that Jackson has been taken to the hospital after he suffered cardiac arrest, the Hollywood blogger Perez Hilton called the news dubious and said that the star had pulled a similar stunt earlier.

The LA coroner may have confirmed the death but many people continue to insist that there was something wrong.

There are some weird theories which have come up after Jackson’s death.

Theory number one – Jackson not dead

Theories on internet forums suggest that Jackson faked his own death to pocket the money from his upcoming comeback performances and solve his financial difficulties.

This theory raises two questions - whose body is in the morgue and who could possibly look so identical so as to pass for MJ at the end of his life? Jokes by comedians that he was more plastic than man seem to have inspired many theorists to suggest that the Michael Jackson the world saw for the last few months was actually a robot.

The theories get more bizarre and rumours of murder are in the air.

Theory number two – Jackson was killed

Posts on Twitter claim the original internet report that the star had died was wrong. But because of the media buzz the report generated, Michael had to be covertly killed.

Another internet posting suggests that Jackson had been killed by a new experimental biological weapon. Also on the list is an unknown extremist group which murdered Michael, actress Farah Fawcett and television personality Ed McMahon on the same day. Add to this the theory that Iranian president Ahmadinejad mudered Jackson to take the focus off the protests in his country.

Jackson has always been the subject of intense scrutiny and it comes as no surprise that his death, like his life, has invited so much speculation.

A LOOK AT MJ'S MEDICAL HISTORY

  • It began with a fire accident in 1984 while shooting for a Pepsi commercial, in which Michael Jackson's hair and scalp caught fire. Since then, the icon has been hooked on a very potent cocktail of painkillers, which some say finally proved fatal.
  • MJ was on three powerful narcotic pain relivers at the same time when any more than one is potentially fatal, sources close to the late singer say.
  • He was injected three times a day with Demerol, a potent painkiller.
  • Despite having had a heart attack earlier, Jackson was taking another painkiller called Dilaudid and was recently prescribed yet another known narcotic painkiller, Vicodin.
  • His other daily drugs included muscle relaxant Soma, a sedative called Xanax and anti-depressant Zoloft. He also took Paxil for anxiety.
  • In a celeb website TMZ, a close member of Jackson's family claims that the daily dose of Demerol was way too strong and Thursday's injection cuased his death.
