IAS aspirant alleges cheating by IPS officer

CHENNAI: G Priyadarshini (26) of Valasarawakkam, who aspired to become an IAS officer, has moved the Madras High Court for a direction to the City Poice Commissioner to receive the inquiry report from the District Social Welfare (DSW) Officer on Rajaji Salai and to take appropriate action on her complaint dated December 9 last, against an IPS officer V Varun Kumar, who allegedly cheated her.Justice S Nagamuthu, before whom the criminal original petition came up on Wednesday, directed the DSW officer to submit the inquiry report and adjourned the matter till April 12. According to advocate S Prabakaran, Priyadharshini fell in love with another IAS aspirant Dr V Varun Kumar in 2007. After families of both sides had accepted their proposal of marrying, they  demanded a huge dowry,  and later rejected the proposal.
