BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Friday rejected the interim application filed by Dasarahalli MLA Muniraju pleading to quash an FIR and stay the Lokayukta proceedings against him.Rejecting Muniraju’s plea, a single bench comprising Justice B V Pinto directed the police not to take him into custody, and directed Muniraju to cooperate with the Lokayukta proceedings, and adjourned the hearing for two weeks. The complainant, Puttaswamy, had alleged in his complaint to the Lokayukta court that the Dasarahalli MLA and two other public servants — Ranganath, the then Bangalore North tahsildar, who is now posted in Ramanagaram; and Revenue Inspector Suresh — had committed offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the IPC.The lower court had directed the Lokayukta police to investigate the matter. Following complaints that Muniraju had “grabbed” 1.5 acres of land owned by his mother-in-law Mallamma in Yeshwantpur hobli by fabricating documents in collusion with a few other individuals, the investigation officers registered an FIR against the accused.
