Hegde ready to lead Lokayukta cause

BANGALORE: “Team Anna believes that I should lead the Lokayukta cause in Karnataka. I am ready to join people in this crusade. I will lead if the people want me to,” former Lokayukta N Santosh Hegde said.“A lot of hard work has gone behind the illegal mining report. It runs into 25,000 pages. All that the State Government did was to categorise it and period. No further action was taken. Only one name is being recommended to the Governor who is in turn rejecting it. This has to stop,” said Hegde. The issue of the delayed appointment of Karnataka Lokayukta took centrestage in the India Against Corruption’s (IAC) campaign in Bangalore. Team Anna’s unanimous choice to lead the campaign was Hegde.
