According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Baghpat and other West UP regions are expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall today.

‘Yellow’ alert for Delhi, ‘Orange’ for Haryana, Punjab: 

The weather agency has also issued a ‘Yellow’ alert for the national capital for the next two days, and an ‘Orange alert’ for Haryana and Punjab for today predicting heavy spells of showers.

The maximum and minimum temperatures of Delhi will likely hover around 36 and 27 degrees Celsius.

The Delhi-NCR region witnessed a sudden change in weather as heavy rains lashed parts of the region. Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 36.2 degrees Celsius, 1.3 notches above normal, according to the weather department. The relative humidity at 5.30 pm stood at 68%.

Met officials further said that Monday’s rain was aided by high temperature during the day and the incursion of moisture from a western disturbance in northwest India.

Delhi’s AQI recorded in ‘satisfactory’ category:

The Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital was recorded in the “satisfactory ” category with a reading of 93 at 6 pm, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.

IMD predicts heavy rainfall in these states:

The weather agency has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the North Goa and South Goa districts, Konkan region and Gujarat.

“Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls (≥ 20 cm) very likely at isolated places over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat state,” IMD said in its latest weather bulletin.

The weather forecasting agency has also predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-BaltistanMuzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.
