Allahabad High Court on Thursday sought Uttar Pradesh government's reply on a PIL which alleges that Vasudev Yadav, who holds dual charge as the director of the basic as well as secondary education departments in the state, set up institutions in the names of his wife and children.
A Division Bench comprising Justices Sunil Ambwani and Dinesh Gupta, while fixing February 25 as the next date of hearing in the case, said, "It appears that the entire education department has been monopolised by a single person."
The order came upon a PIL filed by one Avinash Rai who has alleged that Yadav's Income Tax returns showed he had set up educational institutions in the names of his wife and children.
Rai further alleged that Yadav was getting his associates appointed to key posts in the education department.
