Got Threat Calls After Statement on Murthal Molestation: Witness
Witness of the Jat violence Bobby Joshi has claimed that he has received anonymous threat calls after he gave a statement to the police.

An eyewitness has claimed he got anonymous threat calls after he gave a statement to the police that women were molested in Murthal during the Jat quota agitation.

Witness Bobby Joshi told CNN-IBN on Friday that he was unfazed by the threat calls and that he stuck to the statement that some of the Jat protesters were sexually harassing women on the night of February 21.

"I informed the police 2 days ago that I had seen some boys burning vehicles and harass two women from Ludhiana," Joshi said .

"I saw the women being forced towards the farms but they somehow managed to escape. Later, I guided these women to a nearby dhaba to ensure their safety," he added.

Speaking exclusively to CNN-IBN, Joshi said, "I informed police 2 days back that I had seen some boys burning vehicles and harass two women from Ludhiana.

I saw the women being forced towards the farms but they somehow managed to escape. Later, I guided these women to a nearby dhaba to ensure their safety."

Earlier this week, explosive letters by two unidentified victims had forced the Haryana Police to make a U-turn and add gangrape charges to the FIR in the Murthal case.

The first letter, posted from Mathura Road, Faridabad, said the victim was returning home with her father from a college hostel on February 21 during the Jat quota agitation when she was allegedly gangraped by rioters.

The second one, was a social media post by an Australia-based NRI or an Australian of Indian origin, which was forwarded to the police by a journalist.

In the post, the woman described how she was forced out of her car by rioters who dragged her into the fields near the national highway and allegedly gangraped her.

The rape probe was ordered by the state government on orders from the high court which took note of newspaper reports alleging sexual assault.

In February, when CNN-IBN visited the village, some people had hinted at sexual harassment, while others said no rapes took place.

The agitation left over 30 dead, cost the nation nearly Rs 20,000 crore, and affected the image of Haryana as an investment destination.
