BANGALORE: This year, APS Public School has added a new programme, "A Few Golden Words by Eminent Personalities" where apparently, role models in the society are invited to address the school.Justice Santosh Hegde gave a "being humane" talk to the gathering on June 17.He stressed on following the principles of truth, honesty and courage to fight against the social problems like corruption."Though eradication of corruption totally may not be possible, efforts must be made in this direction at one's level such as children should help their parents, family and relatives to fight against corrupt practices," he said.He encouraged the current scenario of protest against corruption and said that the Jan Lokpal bill should be implemented as per the desire of the public."A student should be aware of the current affairs of the nation while pursuing the studies and should aspire only for legitimate earnings and wealth by which we can fight the prevalent corruption in the society," he added.The newly adopted programme had its maiden voyage with Dr Mathoor Krishnamurthy addressing the children on June 10.Dr Murthy talked on preserving one's language and tradition and to be proud of the Indian culture.Through this programmer, the school hopes for the children of today to be in the right path for a great nation tomorrow.About the school APS Public School was started in the year 1989 and is the flagship unit of APS Trust which manages 12 institutions and has 75 years of history. The school now has around 1300 students studying in it.
