Patna: Giving an interim relief, Bihar BJP leader Giriraj Singh, has been granted bail by a Patna Civil Court. However, the arrest warrant issued against him in Bokaro Court remains.
Singh had applied for anticipatory bail in the district court hours after a joint team of Bihar and Jharkhand police raided his house to arrest him on Thursday. He filed the anticipatory bail plea in the court of district judge Virendra Kumar who listed the matter for hearing on Friday.
FIRs were filed against Giriraj Singh after he said that those who oppose BJP prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi are Pakistan sympathisers and should move to the country after the elections.
Giriraj had faced flak from Modi himself for his remark when Modi had tweeted his disapproval of such hate speeches without taking specific names
