Ghaziabad Girl Meghna Srivastava is CBSE Class 12 Topper, Thiruvanthapuram Leads Pack
Step by Step School school student, Srivastava scored 99.8% in CBSE board exam 2018, followed by Anoushka Chandra who scored 99.6%.

New Delhi: Ghaziabad resident Meghna Srivastava emerged as the all India topper after Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared its 12th Board Results on Saturday.

With a difference of one mark, Step by Step School student Srivastava bagged the top slot with 99.8%, while Anoushka Chandra came second with 99.6% in CBSE exam 2018. Seven students have came third with the same marks. Among the differently-abled students, A Vijay Ganesh of Kerala's Palakkad district scaled up to become the topper.

Highest percentage was recorded in Kerala’s Thiruvanthapuram, followed by Tamil Nadu’s Chennai and national capital of Delhi. While Thiruvanthapuram's pass percentage was 97.32%, Chennai's and Delhi's percentage were 93.87% and 89% respectively.

The Central Board of Secondary Education is responsible for conducting the CBSE Class 12 examinations. This year the board conducted the CBSE Class 12 Board examination from 5 March - 13th April 2018. The CBSE 12th result 2018 and CBSE Result 2018 will also be available on cbse.examresults.net results.nic.in/index cbseresults.nic.in, results.gov.in

After results were declared, School Education Secretary Anil Swarup tweeted and advised students that results should be treated with equanimity. "These exams are not the end of the world. Pat yourself on the back if you have done well. Any perceived failure should make you even more determined to succeed in future," he said.

Among political leaders who congratulated CBSE Class 12 students were West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot.
