Entries invited for Water Awards

BANGALORE: Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD) is organising ‘Bangalore World Water Summit 2012’ in the month of February. As part of the Summit, CSD has instituted ‘Bangalore Water Awards’ for innovations in water utility operational and management systems, best practices and promotion of social aspects in water.CSD has invited nominations from various sectors like metropolitan bodies, water boards, city corporations, municipal corporations, industries and non-governmental agencies which have worked for or contributed towards the water sector. It must be noted that individual persons are not eligible to apply.The awards will be given for best performance in three categories: water management among utilities, industries and non-government organisations. A committee of eminent jury, headed by former Chief Justice of India Rajendra Babu, will select and announce the winners at the awards ceremony during the summit. The awards are aimed at motivating and highlighting the importance for research, innovation, best practices and most  importantly, the leaders who are committed towards  finding some answers for water security.
