Doctors launch stir

In protest against the government’s decision, not to withdraw the disciplinary action against the doctors in connection with Satnam Singh’s death, the doctors in the government sector, led by the KGMOA, has begun a non-cooperation strike from Thursday.

The KGMOA, in a press release issued here, said that the probe report of the additional director of health, which led to the transfer of doctors, was quite strange. The report clearly says that the patient was treated at Karunagapally Taluk Hospital and that the doctors at Kollam district hospital had checked on the patient who was in the ambulance.

Yet, the same report accuses that the patient was not treated at that time. The disciplinary action was recommended as the injuries on the patient was not reported.

The patient, who was admitted to the mental health centre here on August 3, died on August 4.
