New Delhi: A team of the Delhi Police left for Tamil Nadu on Saturday to look into Friday's bomb threat to the Parliament.
The Delhi police had traced the e-mail to an Internet cafe in Tirunvelveli district of Tamil Nadu.
The e-mail message had been received by the US mission in Chennai and stated, "On Friday there shall be a bomb blast in Parliament and the US consulates in India at 11.46 am. Stop it if you can. Cut relations with the USA. Long live Osama Bin Laden, Asadh Ullah Alkalifs".
"A team has left for Palayamkottai in Tirunvelveli district from where the e-mail message had been sent," said DCP Special Cell Delhi, Ajay Kumar.
The Special Cell of the Delhi Police is handling the case and hopes to arrest the people responsible for spreading the panic as soon as possible.
The Delhi Police had, on Friday, registered an FIR at the Lodhi Road police station in connection with the threat that led to abrupt adjournment of Parliament proceedings.
The building was evacuated and the scene was reminiscent of the December 13, 2001 terror attack.
A case has been registered against some unknown persons under Section 121 of the Indian Penal Code for waging war against the State and Section 18 of the Prevention of Unlawful Activities.
