New Delhi: Past has come to haunt pop singer Daler Mehndi and it’s time for the him to face the music.
A Patiala court on Wednesday deferred to April 17 the hearing of a 2003 human trafficking case involving Mehndi and his brother Shamsher.
Mehndi's was present in the court of Judicial Magistrate Rajwinder Singh and his revision petition in the case is due for hearing in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Sukhwinder Kaur.
Rajwinder Singh could not take up the matter as the case file was summoned by Sukhwinder Kaur.
The case dates back to September 19, 2003 when Patiala police registered a case against Daler and Shamsher Mehndi under various sections of the IPC and Indian Passport Act at on the complaint of one Bakhshish Singh of Balbehra village and 24 others.
Bakhshish and company alleged that the two took money from them on the promise of including them in their troupe during foreign trips.
They were neither taken abroad nor was their money returned, their FIR said.
