Czech player Safarova beat Italian Errani 6-4, 6-1 and Kvitova, who is the current world No. 6 in WTA single's ranking, beat Giorgi 6-4, 6-2, Xinhua reported.
"Today was a good day. We still need to score one more point to reach the finals, and it does not matter who will get it," said Czech team's captain Petr Pala after the games.
Czech team won Fed Cup in 2011 and 2012, Italy won the cup in 2009, 2010 and 2013. This is the fourth time for the two teams to meet in the Fed Cup in the last five years.
