Cultural fest held

KOCHI: The Bhavan's Varuna Vidyalaya Thrikkakara celebrated its annual inter-school cultural festival 'Insignia' last Thursday. The inaugural session in the morning was presided over by music composer Bijibal.  The school committee chairperson Rajasekharan, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan director Ramankutty, principal Sunitha and vice-principal Umadevi K P also addressed the gathering. Bijibal enthralled the audience by singing a few of his songs. Schools from different parts of Kochi participated in the competitions organised as part of 'Insignia' including quiz, recitation, drama and dance.The day-long event concluded in the evening. Noted Malayalam director Siddique attended the valedictory function. He entertained the students by performing a few impersonations. The overall champions were Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya Kakkanad, while Bhavan's Vidya Mandir Girinagar became the runners-up.
