Court directive draws flak

In what could be a threat to over 100  top officials of the KSRTC appointed by the Public Service Commission, a High Court judgment passed on July 16 has directed the transport corporation to consider the selection of non-PSC staff to the senior positions based on their date of joining.  Most of the PSC appointed officials holding the posts of DTO, ATO and inspectors joined the service after 1980. Those who were appointed in the organisation through the employment exchange had joined work in 1979. “The order is unfair because this would give the employment exchange staff an edge over us. However, KSRTC only gives preference to PSC appointed staff. The order was passed as part of some political agenda,” alleged a few KSRTC employees.
