MALAYATTOOR: The international pilgrim centre at Malayattoor has been spruced up for the consecration of the St Thomas New Church on Sunday.Syro-Malabar Major Archbishop Mar George Alenchery will be the main celebrant of the consecration ceremony at 2.30 pm. Eight bishops including Ernakulam Archdiocese Auxiliary Bishops Mar Thomas Chakiath and Mar Sebastian Idayanthrath and priests will be the co-celebrants.A public meeting to be held in this connection will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at 6 pm on the same day. Mar George Alenchery will preside over the function. Union Ministers Vayalar Ravi and K V Thomas will release the souvenir and the parish directory respectively. Mar Thomas Chakiath will inaugurate the charity fund and Mar Sebastian Idayanthrath will distribute the mementos.Minister K M Mani will deliver the message. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan will accept the eye donation pledge forms and P J Joseph will hand over the keys of the housing project. Hill Top Pilgrim Center Rector Fr Xavier Thelakkattu will hand over the Malayattoor-Kurusumudi (Hill Top) Development Project to Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar.Malayattoor St Thomas Church vicar Fr John Theckanath, Rector Fr Xavier Thelakkattu, Fr Joyson Puthussery are Fr Jose Kanattu MCBS are busy finalising the arrangements.
