BANGALORE: Upset over his parents’ comparison him with his younger sister, a 14-year-old student ended his life by hanging at his residence at Doddanagamangala in Parappana Agrahara police station limits on Thursday evening.The deceased has been identified as Bharath, an eighth standard student at Chennakeshava Higher Primary School near his house. He was the elder son of Venkataraju, a tailor, and Vatsala, a garment factory employee.According to police, Bharath was not good at his studies, while his sister Sona, a sixth standard student, was a bright student. Hence, his parents asked him to study well like her. Even Sona used to help him in studying and cleared his doubts sometimes.The duo had preparatory exams shortly and were preparing for that. “On Wednesday, evening while the duo were studying, Bharath asked a doubt and Sona cleared it. Their parents noticed it and appreciated Sona. They also reportedly compared Bharath with her and said him how Sona, though younger to him, was brilliant than him."On Thursday, Bharath did not go to school and after his parents went for work and Sona left for school, he hanged himself. The incident came to light when Sona returned home,” police explained.
