After receiving rave reviews for 'Shahid', Hansal Mehta and Rajkummar Rao team up once again for Vishesh Films 'City Lights'. The actor-director duo along with newcomer Patralekha present a grim story of a migrant couple who struggle to make ends meet in Mumbai.
The film is remake of British film 'Metro Manila' and producer Mahesh Bhatt has stated that it is at par with his earlier works like 'Saraansh' and 'Arth'. Mahesh Bhatt's production house has come a long way since then and is now mostly known for thrillers, while 'City Lights' is rather different from that genres.
Talented actor Rajkummar Rao apparently worked as a labourer for a few days to get into the skin of his character. Rao, who won a National Award for his performance in 'Shahid' has slowly emerged as a talented actor in the last couple of years.
Needless to say, expectations from 'City Lights' is sky rocketing. With two National Award winners on board, the film is bound to be scrutinized to great details. Will the 'Shahid' team be able to weave magic one more time? Shomini Sen of IBNLive.com is inside the theater to find that out.
