New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S R Reddy has promised a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the Hyderabad blasts.
Muslim groups have also asked for a judicial inquiry into the police firing.
Meanwhile the West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has detained Asansol public phone booth owner Mohammad Sayeed for interrogation.
SIM cards in cell phones recovered from the site were bought from Sayeed's booth in April 2006.
The local police believe, however, that Sayeed could be innocent.
"The man sold recharge vouchers for mobile phones and somebody had provided fake documents to get the connection. That may not mean that he has links with terror outfits. However, we had detained him for interrogation and have now transported him to Kolkata upon instructions from the Chittaranjan police station,” said Sub Inspector at Mihijam Police Outpost, B S Singh.
