Cannot Nullify NEET UG 2017, Says Supreme Court
"We cannot pass an interim order like this. The admission process must continue. There are over six lakh students," said the bench comprising Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A M Khanwilkar and Justice M M Shantanagoudar.

The Apex Court of India refused to Nullify NEET UG 2017 Results as the three-judge bench said it will be ‘very difficult’ to disturb the results of 6,11,539 candidates who have cleared NEET UG 2017. It is notable that out of approximately 11 lakh medical aspirants who had appeared for NEET UG 2017 conducted by CBSE in May this year, 6.11 lakh candidates had cleared this exam as per the results declared on June 23rd last month.

"We cannot pass an interim order like this. The admission process must continue. There are over six lakh students," said the bench comprising Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A M Khanwilkar and Justice M M Shantanagoudar.

The Supreme Court hearing comes in light of the petition filed against NEET UG 2017, CBSE which said that three sets of question papers were given to the candidates in NEET 2017 exam in Andhra Pradesh. The petitioners said that the question paper should have been same for all candidates as the NEET UG 2017 will publish All India Ranking of the candidates.

"What has been done is completely unlawful. How can there be all-India ranking when students are given different sets of question papers," said the counsel of petitioners.

To which the Additional Solicitor for CBSE said that the exam was conducted in eight native languages besides English and Hindi and the level of difficulty of questions were the same in all languages.

"The level of difficulty of questions was the same in all the languages. We will put it in affidavit that there were two sets of question papers. Around 1.48 lakh candidates have given the exam in vernacular languages and it was to avoid leakage of question papers," Additional Solicitor General Maninder Singh told the bench on behalf of CBSE, New Delhi.

The Supreme Court has asked CBSE to file an affidavit within 3 days to clarify things. The next date of hearing is scheduled for July 31st.
