Both India and Pak DGMOs can decide when to meet: Bashir
Bashir said that there have been flag meetings and that there has been good communication between the two countries.

New Delhi: Pakistan Ambassador to India Salman Bashir on Saturday said it was upon the DGMOs of India and Pakistan to meet if they wished to do so and they are best qualified to deal with matters pertaining to their domain.

"We have left it to the headquarters of the Director generals of Military Operations (DGMO) that they meet, if they wish so. The idea basically was that the two DGMOs will themselves decide the date and venue for the meeting.

"The good part is the LOC is quiet and the two militarise have excellent communication and they are best qualified to deal with matters that pertain to their domain," Bashir, whose tenure is ending soon said.

He was speaking on the sidelines of 'Pakistan Food Festival' organised here. He noted that there have been flag meetings between the two militarises.

"There have been flag meetings, there is good communication. So I think lets not look at form, but look at the substance," Bashir said.

Replying to a query on 26/11 Mumbai attack trail, he said, "Both sides are cooperating. We expect the trial to pick up pace and it has picked up pace. And it is in the interest of justice that all the legal formalities are duly completed and it is happening."
