HYDERABAD: APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana will leave for Delhi on Tuesday to discuss with the Party High Command about the byelections to Banswada Assembly seat in Nizamabad district slated for October 13.Satyanarayana is expected to bring to party leaders’ notice his and the chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s opinion about contesting the election, though Telangana Congress leaders want to leave it uncontested, as it would further erode the Congress base in Telangana. The PCC president is likely to utilise the opportunity to reconstitute the PCC and the DCCs besides the long-pending issue of filling nominated posts in the districts to prevent party workers from migrating to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSR Congress.Botcha Satyanarayana will also discuss his proposal to appoint in-charges for constituencies held by the Congress MLAs who had resigned recently in expression of their support to Jagan Mohan Reddy. Since the PRP has recently merged with the Congress, his proposal was to appoint former PRP leaders as in-charges for some constituencies.According to sources, Satyanarayana wants selection of the candidates for appointment as in-charges, in the event of the Speaker Nadendla Manohar accepting the resignations of MLAs.
