BMS protests against sandbank

KOCHI: The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) will organise a demonstration near Munambam Fishing Harbour on Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm, demanding the removal of the sandbank near the harbour.  The sandbank is posing a threat to the fishermen. The harbour is the anchoring point for around 300 boats and 600 countrycraft. Hundreds of families are depending on the operation of these boats and craft for making a living, said BJP Karshaka Morcha Ernakulam district president E S Purushothaman.
