Dubai: After wooing the audiences and critics alike, Bollywood blockbusters Black and Parineeta have bagged maximum awards in technical categories at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2006.
The Idea IIFA Awards are the high point of the 7th Annual IIFA Weekend and Awards in Dubai from June 14-17. The awards would be presented on June 16.
Black has won awards for cinematography, editing, song recording and background score and Parineeta has been recognised for makeup and costume, sound recording, art direction and screenplay.
The technical awards results were strictly monitored, collated and tabulated by the internationally reputed audit firm PriceWaterhouse Coopers.
Ravi K Chandran has been chosen for the award for best cinematography for the movie Black and Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Pradeep Sarkar have won the best screenplay award for Parineeta.
The award for the best dialogue has gone to Prakash Jha for Apharan. Keshto Mondol, Elridge Rodrigues, Tanushree Sarkar, Pradeep Sarkar have been selected for the art direction award for Parineeta.
The choreography award has gone to Vaibhavi Merchant for Bunty Aur Babli for the song Kajra Re and Allan Amin has been selected for the best action award for Dus.
The sound recording award has gone to Bishwadeep Chatterjee for Parineeta and Anup Dev for Black.
P Balaraman has been declared winner for the best song recording award for Aashiq Banaya Aapne.
The special effects award has been bagged by Dus, best background award to Monty Sharma for Black, best costume designing award to Subarna Ray Chaudhari for Parineeta and best make-up award to Vidyadhar Bhatte for the same film.
