BJP blames UPA for Munda’s fall
The BJP blamed the UPA for the fall of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Jharkhand.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Thursday blamed the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) for the fall of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Jharkhand.

"Whenever Congress is in power at the centre they adopt their old and undemocratic practice of not allowing non-Congress governments to function in the states," BJP president Rajnath Singh said in response to the political developments in Jharkhand.

Chief Minister Arjun Munda submitted his resignation to Governor Syed Sibte Razi Thursday even before taking a trust vote in the house, amid indications that Madhu Koda, a former minister in his government, would be the next UPA chief minister.

"The UPA is guilty of destabilising the state full of natural resources that was on the path of economic growth and prosperity. This anti-people and anti-welfare act of Congress will be challenged by people of Jharkhand in times to come," the BJP chief said.

"It is evident that UPA is non-serious about running the new Jharkhand government as none of the UPA political parties have come forward to lead the government," he added.

He said the people of Jharkhand had given their mandate only to the NDA during last assembly elections in 2005.

"We have not resorted to any undemocratic, unconstitutional and unethical means to save our government," Singh said.
