BANGALORE: A biker’s stunt claimed the life of a 9-year-old boy, who was on his way to the school to attend mid-term exam, on the Ring Road in Kamakshipalya. It is said that the biker was performing wheelie when he hit Yatish, a class two student of Panchajanya Vidyapeeta School, who was crossing the road to reach the school.According to the police, Yatish along with his friend Gagan, an eighth standard student in the same school, was going to school at around 8 am. The duo had crossed one side of the road and were standing on the road median to cross the other side. Meanwhile, a biker, who was performing wheelie came towards Sumanahalli Circle, when he lost balance and the front wheel of the bike hit Yatish’s head. Gagan, his friend sustaiend injuries in the accident.  “The duo were taken to Victoria Hospital, where Yatish succumbed in the evening. A hit-and-run case has been registered against the biker. Though we are not sure about the biker performing wheelie, Gagan informed that the biker was performing stunts. Though we do not have details about the vehicle or the biker, search operation has been launched to nab the biker,” the police added. Meanwhile, it is said that the boy could have been saved if he was taken to hospital at the right time.
