Arthur Road prison authorities are doing all they can to keep Kasab safe.

New Delhi: In Mumbai, authorities at the the high-security Arthur Road prison are ensuring that the only surviving terrorist of the 26/11 attacks Mohammad Ajmal Kasab is kept safe.

A special 20-foot corridor is under construction to take Kasab safely from his cell to a special court being set up at the jail premises.

Nearly 250 men are working round the clock to finish the bullet-proof, bomb-proof and chemical-proof corridor.

The court and Kasab's cell are also being reinforced with iron plates. A battalion of armed paramilitary personnel will be assigned to the jail.

Metal detectors and frisking will be done both during the entry and exit.

Z-plus security has been provided to both the special judge and the special public prosecutor of the case.

Kasab will be chained and handcuffed at all the times when he will be produced in the court for trial.

The trial in 26/11 is expected to kick off by the end of this month.
