BHUBANESWAR: An audit report on the implementation of United Nations Convention on Child Rights (CRC) to affirm the human rights of children was released here on Thursday. The report “Convention on the rights of Child 20 yrs - Balance Sheet Collective” has been coordinated and prepared by the HAQ Centre for Child Rights, New Delhi, in association with the Terre Des Hommes, Germany. The audit in India looks at the changes in socio-economic, cultural and political context and its impact on children over  20 years since the adoption of UN Convention. The report has been released earlier in Delhi, Pune, Kolkata and Bengaluru. The whole report is the result of an almost two years of work involving more than 100 organisations and children’s groups. The objective of the audit was not to pick holes but to understand the reality and constraints in implementation. It will also serve as a reference material to build strategies for reaching the unreached children who are still deprived of their rights, steering committee member Umesh Purohit said. The report was released by The New Indian Express Editor (Odisha) Srimoy Kar, senior journalist Rabi Das and writer Pradyumna Satpathy.
