New Delhi: Dismayed over the inclusion of Army's dog squad 'instead' of ITBP, CRPF and BSF in the Republic Day parade, the paramilitary forces' has reportedly written letter to the Centre seeking corrective action.
Even as marching contingents have been reduced by half, protests have erupted after it was announced that the army's dog squad will replace the ITBP, CRPF and BSF marching contingents.
It was learnt that the dog squad of the Army's Remount Veterinary Corps will take part in Republic Day parade after nearly three decades.
Army officials claimed that the squad selected on the basis of merit.
Major General Rajesh Sahai, Chief of Staff, Delhi Area, who briefed the media about the parade, said the dog squad will return to the Republic Day parade after 27 years.
