HYDERABAD: The High Court on Thursday heard till late evening the arguments of the petitions dealing with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The arguments were inconclusive and would continue on Friday. In all, two petitions were filed by Jagan - one challenging his arrest by the CBI and another against grant of his judicial custody by the special CBI court. The CBI has also filed two petitions - one against grant of judicial custody of Jagan by the lower court and another seeking police custody of Jagan.Ranjeet Kumar appearing for Jagan pointed out that the court had earlier directed for strict compliance with Section 41A of the Code of Criminal Procedure and it was breached by the CBI.The order of remand was illegal as Jagan responded to the notice of appearance as required under the law. He also argued that the action was disguised as preventive detention to keep him away from campaigning for byelections. He argued that the only reason given for the arrest is that Jagan would tamper with evidence.
