New Delhi: Apple's latest tablet devices the iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina display go on sale in India from Saturday with prices starting Rs 28,900 onwards.
While the 16GB Wi-Fi only iPad Mini with Retina display is available at Rs 28,900, its corresponding iPad Air model comes with a price tag of Rs 35,900.
The iPad Air features 9.7-inch Retina display in a new thinner and lighter design. It weighs 453 grams and is 20 per cent thinner and 28 per cent lighter than the fourth generation iPad.
Apple is introducing the new iPads to India soon after Google launched the second-generation Nexus 7 tablet in the country. A competitor to the iPad, the Nexus 7 is priced at Rs 20,999 for the 16GB variant. Apple promises up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music and up to 9 hours of surfing the web using cellular data network on both the devices.
