KOCHI: Nine Sri Lankan nationals, including two women, were taken into custody from a lodge here tonight following suspicion that they were trying to travel illegally to a foreign country, police said.Police said they suspect the nine had been brought here for being sent to a foreign country by human traffickers.They said the Sri Lankan nationals were being questioned but declined to divulge any other details.In May last year, police had detained 39 Sri Lankan Tamils in Kollam in Kerala after they were found staying in a lodge without valid travel documents. Investigations had then revealed the Lankan nationals had attempted to go to Australia with the help of a local travel agent.
