An undertrial prisoner, accused in a murder case during riots, died in Muzaffarnagar due to cardiac arrest at a district jail, officials said.
Praveen Kumar (36) was arrested for allegedly gunning down Ehsan and injuring seven persons in Shamli during the riots in September last year, jailor Mizazilal said.
Kumar was rushed to district hospital where he was declared brought dead on Monday. An inquiry has been ordered into the matter. The body has been sent for autopsy, jail authorities said.
