Two of the arrested persons are BCA graduates; all remanded in custody for 15 days

Three more persons were on Wednesday arrested for their alleged role in leaking the  question paper for the TNPSC Group 2 exam.

The trio was picked up for their alleged links with the Chennai-based mastermind of the scam, Balan alias SridarrajaWn, on the basis of information garnered from Varadarajan, another accused in the case.

Those arrested on Wednesday were all from Chennai. They were identified as Mohanbabu (24) of Arumbakkam, Jainivasan (26) of Egmore and Sathiskumar (27) from Medavakkam.

While Mohanbabu and Jainivisan, an accountant with a 5-star hotel, were both BCA graduates, Sathishkumar, an office assistant at a private firm. The trio did not appear for the the Group 2 exam.

They were picked up from Chennai on Tuesday and brought here last night.

Following an inquiry, police produced the trio, along with Varadaraj, whose custody ended on Wednesday, at the JM Court 2.  The court ordered that the quartet be remanded for 15 days.

Varadaraj, employed with a teachers training institute, was among the quartet picked up by police when the scam first came to light, on August 12. Danakodi, a private college librarian, her husband Senthil and engineering college lecturer Sudhakar were also arrested along with him.

They have been accused of sending out a copy of the question paper on the day of the examination. Both Senthil and Sudhakar claimed that they first received the e-mail from Varadaraj.

Varadaraj’s friend, Namakkal resident Selvaraj (34), was also arrested recently after it came to light that he was the one who helped Varadaraj with the particular e-mail at a browsing centre at Namakkal.
